De Gea suffers major injury blow and will miss World Cup group games
Monday, June 16, 2014 by The Peoples PersonDavid de Gea has suffered a muscular injury in training with Spain and has been ruled out for at least ten days.
The injury means De Gea will not be available for the games against Chile and Australia and, dependent on whether Spain make it out of the group stage or not, it could mean he is misses the rest of their World Cup campaign.
It’s a big blow for De Gea because after Iker Casillas’ shocking performance against the Netherlands, where he was personally responsible for a couple of the goals, Vicente Del Bosque would have certainly been considering his goalkeeping options.
From United’s perspective, it won’t rule De Gea out of the pre-season tour but after the season he has had, it’s really unlucky that his progress has been halted but hopefully it doesn’t have any effect on him.
