ARTIST Emma Allen has surely won the award for selfie of the tournament after painting herself gold and posing as the famous footie prize.

The 33-year-old, who specialises in body paint, said she wanted to embrace the world's greatest sporting event in the best way possible.

She said: "The World Cup trophy is such an iconic symbol around the world so I wanted to try and see if I could represent it in a face paint."

Emma, from Elephant and Castle, south London, has amazed millions worldwide with her transformation.

And within just 24 hours received 500,000 views on her website.

The two hour process of getting ready involved a swimming cap and a lot of paint.

She explained how she mixed different shades of yellow, gold and orange to get the tints right all over her face.

And added two green stripes across her forearms before folding her hands in front of her face to look the part.

She said: "The hardest thing was getting my arms and hands in the right position.

"I took a lot of pictures before settling on the final one."

Celebrities such as Ian Wright have praised Emma's efforts saying: "You're awesome! I bow to your gift."

Plus many across Twitter have showed their appreciation for Emma's work.

She said: "I just had a good feeling it would work.

"I'm not the biggest football fan, I just wanted to give it a go."
