A crying Kai Rooney makes Sun front page, Backpages hail Luis Suarez’s brilliant brace after Uruguay 2 – England 1

Friday, June 20, 2014 by 101 GREAT GOALS

Tomorrow's backpages eschew any effigy hanging or Hodge critiquing, instead putting all the emphasis on Luis Suarez's finishing masterclass.

'Kicked in the Teeth', 'Savaged by Suarez', and 'Kiss of Death' are some of the puntastic headlines on the papers' backpages in their analysis of England's defeat to Uruguay.

The Sun, never ones to worry about a bit of controversy, feature Wayne Rooney's crying son Kai on their FRONT page, being consoled by Rooney's wife Colleen, along with a pretty ham-fisted attempt at a gag headline.

After all the problems Rooney's had with the press recently, and after the Man United striker tweeted about not bothering his family while on holiday in Portugal – was it necessary for The Sun to put Rooney's son on their front page?!
