Tears of joy for Neymar in shootout success

Sunday, June 29, 2014 by Marca.com

One person who certainly will not forget the Brazil-Chile clash is Neymar. The number 10 did not let his emotions get the better of him during a tense affair, as was seen by his coolly taken penalty in the shootout, which preceded Jara's decisive miss confirming Brazil's passage into the quarter-finals.

It is hardly surprising that the Brazilian was unable to hold the tears back when the hosts' progress was confirmed.

The Barcelona player struggled to replicate any of his brilliance displayed during the group stage, however, dragging an ugly shot wide when through on goal and unselfishly passing to Fred with just the goalkeeper to beat after sublime control in the first half.
