NATIONAL COACH WILL AGAIN PLAY IKER AS SPAIN'S NO. 1 - Casillas never lets Del Bosque down

Friday, October 11, 2013 by Marca.com

Iker Casillas has been a fundamental part of Vicente Del Bosque's team both on and off the pitch, and the coach's complete faith in his captain is based on the fact that, even when he isn't playing for his club, he never lets the national team down. For that reason, there is no doubt that Casillas will start against Belarus.

Casillas has had Del Bosque's full backing during some very tough times. He was called up for the Confederations Cup even though he had not played since January. He then started the games against Ecuador and in Helsinki in similar circumstances.

The national coach's commitment to his captain is also based on the weight he holds within the team.
