Algeria and Germany fans started to arrive at the Beira stadium in Porto Alegre early on Monday, hours before the two nations meet in the last 16 of the World Cup.

The North Africans sang their popular "one, two, three, viva Algerie" chant while the German fans promised there will be no repeat of the 'Desert Warriors's' upset victory in the group stage of the 1982 World Cup finals.

The city of Porto Alegre has been lashed by rain and heavy winds over the past few days and temperatures at kick-off are expected to dip to below 14-degrees Celsius.

Algerian fans have been complaining about the inadequate organisation of the touring company that was supposed to look after their accommodation, transportation and match tickets.

The Algerian supporters travelled twelve hours in a convoy of buses to make it to the match, but supporters worry the long road trip will be wasted if their match tickets don't arrive on time.

SOUNDBITE (Arabic): Voxpop, Algeria Supporter (on the match):

"What can I tell you, it took us twelve hours to get here on the bus and the problem is we got here but there are still no tickets for the game. This is a worry, we are worried that after making this long trip we won't get the tickets."

Meanwhile Germany fans are confident that Thomas Mueller will add to his four World Cup goals that he has already scored at this tournament:

SOUNDBITE (German): Voxpop, Germany Supporter (on the match):

"Today I think will be a big one for Toni Kroos. Toni Kroos is a perfect player. He'll play well with Thomas Mueller and he (Mueller) will score two goals (points to Mueller jersey). Two goals and we will go on the way to being the champion."

The winner of the Germany-Algeria match moves on to face France in the quarter finals after they beat Nigeria 2-0 in their last 16 match.
