UOL have snagged an interview with two Mexican fans who have had an interesting start to the World Cup.

Rafael Moia and Carlos Lee were woken up by a surprise on Wednesday, when they saw a strange man in their room.

The thief was armed with a knife, and apparently drugged, and he woke then up when he tried to move their suitcases.

Once up, the two Mexicans quickly burst into action, attacking the robber and leaving him immobilised.

The pair told UOL: “We were sleeping when we heard noise. At first I thought it was a friend of ours [two other Mexicans were at a party], but he was a thief. We had to defend ourselves, he had sharp object, but I pinned him down. He chose the wrong people”.

A picture of the robber, as taken by police, is below.
