World Cup Match Report: Colombia hangs on for 2-1 win over Ivory Coast

In the 59th minute, Colombia had a golden opportunity to open the scoring when Juan Guillermo Cuadrado’s shot went through Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry’s hands and off the far post. Minutes later, Colombia's dominance in possession would pay off.
Off a corner kick in the 64th minute, James Rodriguez headed home his second goal of the tournament for a 1-0 lead. That started the party on the Colombia sideline. Six minutes later, the dancing would continue as Juan Quintero, who was subbed on in the 53rd minute, finished off a 2-on-1 as Los Cafeteros took advantage of an Ivory Coast turnover in midfield.
Gervinho got one back for The Elephants three minutes after Quintero’s goal to cut the Colombian lead to 2-1, where it would finish.
