Grondona Claims It Wouldn't be Fair - Argentina won't free up Messi

Friday, September 13, 2013 by Marca.com

Julio Grondona, president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), thinks it unlikely Messi will sit out the matches against Peru and Uruguay despite the fact that Argentina has already qualified for Brazil 2014.

"Argentina is up against countries that have a lot to play for. We need to be careful because it wouldn't be fair on other teams," he told 'Esports Cope'.

"We don't want to harm another country's interests, so we'll take a decision when the time comes," Grondona said.
