SPAIN /DOESN'T THINK HE'S BEEN UNFAIRLY TREATED - Michu: "I've come to enjoy myself and qualify for the World Cup"
Friday, October 11, 2013 by Marca.comMichu is the new kid on Vicente del Bosque's Spain team's last call-up list, and has admitted that he's nervous to be so: "For any player, playing for his country is the tops. It's the most I've ever achieved in my career. I have come to enjoy myself and make our qualification for the World Cup a sure thing".
He also mentioned the help he was getting from Mata: "I rely on Mata for a lot of support, as I know him well. When I go out onto the pitch, and put on the shirt of the best team in the world, the feeling is indescribable".
Michu also talked about his ex-Rayo Vallecano teammate, a man that has been the talk of all football enthusiasts as of late: "I know Diego Costa and he's a very good player, and as a person he's always been a good bloke. I get on very well with him. I really would have no problems at all if he were to come to the national team", he assured.
"You're nervous when you go out onto the pitch, but with such high class players, you end up enjoying it. I now enjoy all our training sessions. If I get the chance to play, then great. I'd be very happy if I did", he said.
"I don't see myself as unfairly treated for not having been chosen to play for 'La Roja' before. I think that Del Bosque is a very fair man", said Michu, regarding previous Spain games when he hadn't been called up.
