Family matters for Suarez as daughter pals up with Kop star during Uruguay training

Monday, November 18, 2013 by Dailymail

The last time Luis Suarez was pictured at a training ground with his daughter came in August after he was ordered to prepare alone at Liverpool's Melwood complex by the club's hierarchy.

But the controversial striker was snapped with Delfina in much happier circumstances on Sunday as Uruguay prepare for the second leg of their World Cup qualifier against Jordan next week.

Earlier this season, Suarez was sent into exile for his astonishing attack on Liverpool in which he accused boss Brendan Rodgers of breaking promises and not telling the truth.

But the striker, who was desperate to leave the club in the summer, has since turned his and Liverpool's fortunes around, scoring eight goals in just seven appearances this term, with the Anfield side second in the Barclays Premier League table.

Suarez has revealed this his trademark goal celebration of kissing his wrist is a tribute to his daughter, whose name, in a bizarre coincidence, is also an anagram of Anfield.

The 26-year-old, who trained alongside his Uruguay team-mates on Sunday, is on course to appear at next year's finals in Brazil after hammering their play-off opponents 5-0 last week.

Taking a tumble: Suarez appeared to dive in Uruguay's first-leg victory in Jordan last week

Uruguay's win against Jordan was somewhat overshadowed by a poor attempt to win a penalty by Suarez in the first half after he fell theatrically in the box. The Liverpool star escaped without a booking for simulation as his side eased to victory.

'This result will put us in a good position for the second leg,' Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez said.

'We will play with the same formation to honour the Uruguayan fans who will fill the stadium next Wednesday, as I heard that 60,000 tickets were sold.'

The Jordanians have never reached the World Cup and struggled to compete against a Uruguay side who reached the last four at the 2010 finals.
