Sturridge: No regrets playing for England... even at expense of Liverpool starting spot
Tuesday, November 26, 2013 by DailymailDaniel Sturridge has no regrets about playing for England against Germany, despite not starting the Merseyside derby, and insists he would do the same again.
Though Sturridge salvaged a point for Liverpool with a last-gasp header, manager Brendan Rodgers said the striker wasn’t ready to begin the game at Goodison Park.
Sturridge participated briefly in only one training session with England and his condition on returning to Melwood last week left Rodgers vexed ahead of Liverpool’s most significant game of the campaign.

Sturridge, who has been complaining of a problem with his thigh, said: ‘Regardless of what condition you are in, if you are selected by England, you go out and do the best you can.
‘I have been hampered for the past three games. I’ve had blood under my muscles in my thigh. When I shoot from distance I still feel pain.’
