Jese is an option for Spain
Friday, February 07, 2014 by Marca.comSpain coach Vicente Del Bosque has highlighted that Real Madrid forward Jesé Rodríguez has caught his eye with recent performances and could be amongst his options for the World Cup squad in Brazil.
"All who are playing regularly and are performing well, are potential players for the national team. I wouldn't like to highlight one name in particular, I'm speaking in general terms that all those with the potential and who can come. In the case of Jesé, he's one of those", Del Bosque said.
Vicente del Bosque, the Spain manager, talked about the derby between Real Madrid and Atlético in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, which ended in a 3-0 victory for 'Los Blancos'.
"It was an intense and very hard-fought game in which Real Madrid was slightly superior, and came out the winner. I think it was a very intense cup semi-final, and a little vicious at times," remarked Del Bosque, in reference to some of the incidents involving players from both teams.
"There were episodes and things that I really don't like. I know it's part of football, that it can happen. I understand that, but I don't like it. Each player needs to worry about playing, performing to the best of his ability and helping his side, but there were clashes and behaviours which were inappropriate," said Del Bosque, although he was "not worried" that the game might have an adverse effect on relations between the members of the national team.
