Argentina rocked by Gago injury blow
Tuesday, April 15, 2014 by Goal.comThe midfielder has been ruled out of action for 60 days, casting doubt over his participation in Brazil this summer
Argentina could be without Fernando Gago for the World Cup after the Boca Juniors man suffered a grade two sprain of his left knee in his side's 0-0 draw with Columbus.
The midfielder has already been ruled out of the rest of his club's domestic season after medical staff estimated a 60-day recovery time, ending two days prior to the Albiceleste's first game of the tournament.
The 28-year-old will spend the first two weeks of his rehabilitation with his leg immobilised in a splinter before embarking on a gradual recuperation programme.
Gago has been a regular on the Argentina team sheet having made 46 appearances for his country since making his international bow in 2007.
