The French World Cup squad have arrived home after their quarter-final defeat to Germany.
It's not the welcome the players will have dreamt of but the public here enjoyed this campaign far more than in 2010 and so quite a few fans out to greet them in Paris.
Didier Deschamps side were one of the stand out performers of the group stage with a 3-0 win against Honduras and a 5-2 thrashing of Switzerland.
They saw off Nigeria with a 2-0 win in the last 16 but lost 1-0 against the Germans in the last eight.
For the first time in a long time there is genuine optimism in French football, young players such as Paul Pogba and Rafael Varane will only get better.
They host the European Championships in two years time and their performance in Brazil will certainly make them one of the favourites.
It's taken eight years but pride is back in Paris.
