Coach Phil Scolari hinted in training that midfielder Willian is his first option to replace Neymar in Brazil's match against Germany in the World Cup semi-finals.
Willian practised in Neymar's position when Brazil's reserves played against the Fluminense under-20 squad at their training camp in Teresopolis on Sunday.
The Chelsea midfielder was used in the middle, in front of Brazil's defensive midfielders, the same way Neymar played before being ruled out of the tournament because of a back injury.
The other options for Scolari include Ramires, Bernard and Hernanes.
Centre-back Dante is likely to fill in for captain Thiago Silva, who will serve a suspension due to picking up his second yellow card of the tournament. Although Brazil have launched an appeal against the card in a hope to have it rescinded before the match.
The players who played in the quarter-final against Columbia - except Maicon and Julio Cesar - had a recovery session on Sunday.
Maicon trained separately while the Toronto FC goalkeeper didn't practice on the field.
The squad will have another training session in Teresopolis on Monday morning before they depart for Belo Horizonte for the semi-final on Tuesday.
