'De Jong needs miracle'
09/07/2014 from:SNTVIntro:
Holland coach Louis van Gaal and centre-back Stefan de Vrij discuss the fitness of defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong -- who injured his groin in the Oranje's last 16 win over Mexico -- and the World Cup semi-final against Argentina at Arena Corinthians, São Paulo, on Wednesday (KO 21:00 BST).

SOUNDBITE: (Dutch) Louis van Gaal, Head Coach - the Netherlands (on whether De Jong is playing tomorrow):
"I have no idea if Nigel De Jong will be fit. He had a fitness test today and we will have to wait and see how he looks tomorrow because if you return to playing too quickly, you always have a reaction. So we have to wait and see what reaction there is tomorrow. If the reaction is good enough so that he could play in the semi-final, then a miracle will have taken place."
SOUNDBITE: Stefan de Vrij, Defender - the Netherlands (on the Dutch defenders):
"First of all, Holland have great confidence and we play with great confidence. I know the Dutch media didn't believe in us, weren't very confident in us, but we had belief, and I think it shows. Our belief has paid off. It's great to be able to play at this World Cup. It's a dream for every player, particularly for the younger players. For many of them this is their first tournament with Holland; it's a wonderful experience."
