Thousands of fans lined the streets of San Jose to welcome home the Costa Rica World Cup squad.

Costa Rica's World Cup dream may have died in the quarter-finals but this child will be born into a new era of football in this country, One where they are taken seriously on the international stage.
Such was their success in shocking the World, the squad returned home to a heroes' welcome with thousands of fans lining the streets.
No one gave these players a chance in a group with three previous World Cup winners but they started by stunning Uruguay 3-1, they then beat Italy 1-0 and drew with England to finish top.
Then, they knocked out 2004 European champions Greece in the round of 16 before taking Netherlands all the way to penalties in the last eight.
The truth is that over 90 or 120 minutes, no one could beat Jorge Luis Pinto's side. They were this World Cup's unbeatable minnows.
