World champions Germany are on their way back home after landing their fourth World Cup title.

The champions are coming home.

After beating Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win their fourth World Cup title, Germany have left Brazil and are heading back to Berlin.

Joachim Loew's side crushed Brazil 7-1 in an historic semi-final, before Mario Gotze's goal saw them become champions of the world in Rio de Janeiro.

It's the first World Cup title for Germany since they beat the same opponents in Italy in 1990.

This however is the country's first title since reunification, and an open bus tour in Berlin will guarantee that the party continues for some time yet.

Germany will be defending their title in the tournament's next edition in Russia in 2018.
