Guardiola catches Messi

Thursday, June 26, 2014 by Marca.com

Bayern Munich coach, Josep Guardiola, made the trip to Porto Alegre to watch Leo Messi in the match between Argentina and Nigeria (3-2).

The former Barcelona coach was among the crowd at the Beira-Rio stadium in Porto Alegre, where Messi scored a brace, the second from free kick.

"I didn't know," a surprised Messi said after the match regarding Guardiola's visit. "I didn't even speak to him, but I'm happy he came to watch", he added.

Mascherano was also pleased about Guardiola's gesture. "For me, he has been the best coach I have had in my career. I didn't work with him for that many years, but he made a huge impression on me in every way", said Mascherano.
